Mr. Kumar is a highly experienced Bird/Animal Aircraft Strike Hazard Management (BASHM) professional. With a strong background in Wildlife Management, he specializes in Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard Assessment, Management & Mitigation, Wildlife Conflict Management, Bio-Diversity Studies, and Habitat Management.

 

He has provided his expertise to various international airports in India, offering valuable insights into Wildlife Management, Hazard Assessment, and Mitigation. He has personally worked on BASH Management & Mitigation projects for prominent airports in USA, Canada, Mexico, Netherlands, India, and Singapore.

 

His passion encouraged to conduct in-depth studies on BASH Management practices at renowned airports worldwide, including Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington D.C., USA; Eindhoven Airport of The Royal Netherlands Air Force in the Netherlands; Changi International Airport in Singapore; Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) Hyderabad, India, Delhi International Airport, India, Chennai International Airport, India, Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City, Mexico; Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada, to name a few. This exposure has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of BASHM practices, equipment, and technologies implemented in both civilian and military airports.

 

Mr. Kumar is well-versed in the latest technologies and techniques employed in BASH Management globally. He has firsthand experience with various equipment, including Bird Radars from renowned manufacturers like Accipiter, SRC, and Robin Radar. His expertise lies not only in understanding these technologies but also in their practical application for effective Bird Strike Hazard Management.

 

Recognized for his knowledge and contributions, Mr. Kumar has served as a Panel Expert for the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India, for Bird Strike Control at airports. He has also partnered with DGCA to conduct a National Workshop on BASHM at the Delhi International Airport, further showcasing his commitment to knowledge sharing and industry collaboration.


Mr. Kumar’s expertise extends to international platforms, where he has been invited as a speaker at prestigious conferences and workshops focused on Bird/Animal Aircraft Strike Hazard Management. His participation in renowned forums, including Bird Strike Conferences in Canada, USA, and Mexico, as well as targeted workshops in Singapore, Mexico, and India, in partnership with the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and DGCA, highlights his global influence in the field.

 

In recognition of his qualifications, Mr. Kumar has received training and certification from the Government of the United States of America in Bird Strike Hazard Management (Airport Wildlife Hazard Management) for both civil and military airports. This training is authorized, recognized, and partially conducted by the FAA, further validating his expertise.


With over 20 years of experience in Wildlife Management and Human/Wildlife Conflict Management, Mr. Kumar has successfully initiated and implemented numerous projects focused on Wildlife Management, Conflict Mitigation & Management, as well as Training and Educational programs related to Wildlife. His exceptional communication skills and educational prowess have allowed him to design and deliver various training programs on BASHM and Wildlife Management.

Rajiv Kumar Saxena

Consultant – Aerodrome Licensing

Mr. Saxena is a highly qualified professional with 34 years of experience in the aviation industry. With a diverse range of skills and experience, he has a proven track record in the industry in various domains including Aerodrome Licensing, Airport Management and Air Traffic Management.

In his professional career, he has amassed significant experience in Airport and Air Traffic Management and has worked with various organizations, showcasing his ability to adapt and thrive in diverse work environments. His roles have encompassed responsibilities such as being accountable for the Air Traffic Management at the busiest single-runway-airport in the world, restructuring airspaces managing airside operations, Safety Management Systems (SMS), regulatory compliance, Data Management Systems (DMS), training ATC staff, as well as investigate and sensitize ATC incidents, Aerodrome Licensing, etc.

 

Some of his achievements include:

  • Excellence awards for exceptional expertise in increasing airport capacity at 10% on the world’s busiest single runway
  • Efficiently managing the 80% increase in the overflying traffic
  • Headed the team to create a world record of 1007 aircraft movement in 24 hours on a single runway
  • Provided consultancy to increase the runway capacity of several international airports
  • Implementation of A-CDM to help reduce 40 million kilos of carbon emissions per annum at an international airport
  • SITA Consultant to Zurich International Airport

C. P Savant

Principal Consultant – Heliport Licensing

Capt. C.P. Savant is a highly experienced professional with an illustrious career spanning over 40 years in Airside & Terminal Operations of International Airports in India. He holds prestigious positions, including being a member of the National Civil Aviation Advisory Council of the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), convened by DGCA, India. He is also a respected member of the Aeronautical Society of India, holding the professional qualification M.Ae.SI, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, India (FCILT).


Throughout his career, Capt. Savant has gained extensive expertise in Terminal and Airside Operations, Airside Management, Aerodrome licensing, Heliport licensing, and Airside Planning. He has served as an On-the-Job Training (OJT) Instructor for over 35 years and as a Training Instructor for Technical Training with the Airports Authority of India and other leading private airport operators of international airports in India for over 32 years.


Mr. Savant is recognized as an experienced Senior Consultant & Expert Faculty in various topics, including ICAO Annex-14, Related ICAO Design & Service Manuals, Runway Declared Distances, and ICAO Annex-9 “Facilitation,” among others. He has undertaken several consultancy services relating to Airport/Heliport operations and certifications. He has also conducted trainings under several regulatory bodies, including DGCA, India, and BCAA, Bahrain, covering courses such as Certification of Aerodromes, Annex 14, Vol-I (Basic & Advanced), and Annex 14 Vol-II.


Capt. C.P. Savant’s extensive knowledge, vast experience, and notable contributions make him a highly respected professional in the field of aviation operations and training.

Rajinder Zalpuri

Consultant – ICAO Annex 14

R. Zalpuri boasts an impressive career spanning over five decades in Airside & Terminal Operations and Air Traffic Management of International Airports in India. He began his professional journey in Air Traffic Control and later transitioned to Airport Operations when he was recruited by the International Airports Authority of India (AAI). Throughout his career, he held various positions in international airports across different cities in India, culminating in his retirement from AAI as a General Manager.


Following his retirement, R. Zalpuri joined the esteemed GMR group, the largest airport group in India, as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, India. Additionally, he took on the role of heading the GMR Aviation Academy for a brief period, further showcasing his expertise in the aviation industry.


Some notable highlights of his career include publishing the “Handbook for Airport Operation Personnel” and serving as a trainer for several accredited Indian and Middle Eastern aviation training centres, including the Indian Aviation Academy and Adani Group. He also serves as a guest faculty for esteemed programs such as the MBA (Aviation Management) degree program at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Dehradun, the Post Graduate Diploma in Airport Operations program at Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University in Fursatgunj, UP, and the Diploma in Airport Operations program of Mumbai University.


R. Zalpuri’s vast experience, extensive knowledge, and contributions to the aviation industry make him a respected figure in the field. His expertise as a published author, trainer, and guest faculty further solidifies his reputation as a valuable asset in aviation operations and education.

Gavin Eccles

Consultant – Aviation Training & Development

Gavin Eccles is an experienced professional with a diverse background with over 3 decades of experience in the aviation and tourism industry. He has made significant contributions to airport marketing, route planning, and air services development. Gavin has been instrumental in supporting the vision of Saudi Arabia’s 2030 plan and has played a vital role in the establishment of a learning and development centre for the Barbados airport.

 

Some of his notable accomplishments include:

  • Training and Development: Gavin has successfully provided training and development in airport marketing, supporting the vision of the 2030 Saudi Arabia plan and establishing a learning and development centre for the Barbados airport.
  • Airline Incentive Programs: He has designed and implemented airline incentive programs to support route development, collaborating with low-cost, legacy carriers, and charters. Currently, he serves as the Advisor to the President of Visit Portugal, working on the post-COVID aviation strategy for Portugal.
  • Route Planning and Air Services Development: Gavin has played a crucial role in aligning airports and tourism boards with key airline partners. Business and Strategy Development: With his expertise, Gavin provides advisory services to investors and consultancies, supporting tourism
    economic viability studies.
  • Academic Contributions: Gavin delivers lectures for various degree and master’s courses, covering areas such as air transport management, network planning, sustainable aviation, airport planning, and revenue management.
  • Chief Commercial Officer (CCO): During his tenure at SATA Group (Azores Airlines), Gavin efficiently managed the commercial operations of the oldest Portuguese airline. He oversaw network planning, revenue management, sales, marketing, and product and brand experience.
  • He played a pivotal role in positioning Portugal as a prominent tourism destination, establishing partnerships with major tour operators. His work on airline incentive programs and trade marketing campaigns earned recognition from the UNWTO for excellence in managing tourism seasonality.
  • Analyzed and supported airport privatizations, route development and planning, feasibility studies for new airports, and conducted economic studies to support route development and liberalizing air route strategies.
  • Provided marketing and commercial strategies for international airlines, assisted in introducing and positioning the STAR Alliance airline network, conducted market and feasibility studies for tourism development, and implemented brand service programs.

Gavin holds an MPhil in Strategic Marketing Management and has a proven track record in managing airline commercial operations, establishing key partnerships, airport privatizations, route development, marketing strategies, etc.
